Lit by Samantha Arots 22nd April 2021
A friend of mine lost her dad recently. He went to Sallies (class of 76) which got me thinking about you, dad. I figured there was no way you would have known her dad, but who knows! You were the kind of person who touched the lives of so many. Even now, over a decade after your passing, people still give their condolences and share memories of you. I’m married now, and have your two grandsons. My husband, Ry, reminds me so much of you with his love of music and old cars. He has an old Ford model T and a Volkswagen Beetle. He also collects die cast cars, much like you did, and is currently trying to put together a curio cabinet to display both yours (I have them thanks to Aunt Barb) and his. Ryan is a good man - you’d like him. And my boys, well they aren’t “artsy farts,” but one loves Chess and Math, while the other enjoys skateboarding. I think they would have loved you - and I imagine you calling them “goofy” and “nutsy,” as you did with me and Liz when we were kids. I really miss you, daddy, and think of you often. I love you!
